AJ Kell- our Women in Moto host!
The Honest Biker
AJ aka The Honest Biker is our host for the event, and is a wonderful ambassador for female riders.
“Hey, I’m Aj aka the Honest Biker. Let’s start at the beginning.
I’m the only biker in my family, so, “What made you get into biking?” I hear you ask, let me explain… I was in a toxic job/relationship, wasn’t getting along with family, so I thought to myself, “Where is the furthest place on this planet I can go, set up base and see the world? Australia!”
I looked online for VISAs and said to the universe, “If you make this happen, I’ll quit everything and go”. VISA approved in 10mins!
That was it, I typed up my resignation, called a meeting with my manager and handed it over. As I left the room, they said sarcastically, “See you Monday”, to which my reply was. “Not f**king likely!”
I went home, sold my car, my belongings and booked the cheapest one way ticket I could find. First stop, Australia! I worked for a while, saved some money and then after a year or so, it was on to other places, first, Bali, where my love of bikes began! I met a friend who was already riding a cheap old retro Honda, so I asked if I could tag along. I rented a cheap little scooter and zoomed around Ubud and surrounding villages, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells and that was that was it, I was hooked. I continued my way across to many places, including, Thailand, Laos, The Perhentian Islands, The Gili Islands, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and my heart country, Vietnam. 🇻🇳
Eventually, the time came for me to return to the UK, as my passport was about to expire. During that time, I was also finally diagnosed with a from birth chronic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), along with chronic fatigue and multiple joint instability, which my entire life I was told was all in my head!! With this new diagnosis, I learned how to adapt my riding style etc to allow for me to continue doing what I love!
Biking has literally changed my life. I have finally found my people and I couldn’t be happier. See you on the road!!
Aj 🤘x”
Tiffany Coates (Saturday 16th August)
The World’s Foremost Female Motorcycle Adventurer
Tiffany Coates is the world’s foremost female motorcycle adventurer having ridden over 300,000 miles, crossing every continent, some of them several times. She’s travelled just about everywhere and says the remotest locations are her favourites, amongst them -Timbuctoo, Outer Mongolia, Tibet, Madagascar and more recently the jungles of Guyana and Suriname.

A quarter-ton bike on which she first left the UK (having sold everything including her hair) heading to India with her best friend. They were riding two-up with just two months riding experience between them. That first journey ignited a longing to see more of the world on two wheels and Tiffany hasn’t stopped since.
Remote riding adventures are her passion, one that Tiffany now also shares with others in her role as one of the world’s leading freelance motorcycle guides. Guiding riders on intrepid journeys throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Tiffany was the world’s first motorcyclist to cross Asia on all three classic routes. North to Tokyo, Central to Beijing and South to Singapore.

Ride With Poppy
“I started riding bikes over 20 years ago with my dad and in 2023, I took the front seat and made riding a staple element of my life.
A year after getting my first bike—a Yamaha MT125—I picked up an Insta360 and started making videos for social media. What started as a simple hobby quickly took a turn, evolving into a platform where I now share all kinds of content. Since then, I’ve upgraded to a CBR650R, making the journey even more exciting!
Juggling two jobs alongside content creation hasn’t always been easy, but my passion keeps me going. My main aim with social media is to keep creating informative, easy-to-follow resources to make the process of getting on two wheels easier for everyone.
One of my biggest dreams is to ride back to my hometown in Portugal and experience the same roads I once rode with my dad—this time on my own bike.”
Laura (Women Only Motorcycle Training)
Laura started Women Only Motorcycle Training in 2016. “I wanted to build a training platform that allowed women to learn to ride, or improve their skills in a safe environment, without judgement or being made to feel stupid or inadequate. I felt that the industry penalised women riders.”
Laura’s passion is for an emphasis on skill and technique, ensuring riders feel confident in their own ability. “The key is to not rush the basics. Giving students the knowledge, skills and more importantly the time to improve without feeling rushed or that they’re not good enough”
Laura passed her test in the Summer of 2012. Since then she has done thousands of riding miles, including advanced riding qualifications; IAM and RoSPA, co-lead tours on the continent with RMT Motorcycle Training and organised UK tours and Off-road experiences with WOMT.
It hasn’t always been easy though. After only 6 months of riding, she experienced her first accident and it crushed her confidence. Laura said “I had major anxiety about riding, struggled with negativity from other riders because after my crash, I rode too slow and as a result, I nearly gave it all up”. However she was encouraged to keep going by fellow Motorcycle Instructor and owner of RMT Motorcycle Training, Simon Hayes, who assured her, the way to keep safe was through further training. After a mindset shift, she eventually understood the benefits of training and realised, she could have done so much more to prevent her accident. This gave Laura a passion for both rider education and support for anyone who might be feeling the same as her.
Laura’s qualifications:
RoSPA Gold Badge Holder
IAM Advanced rider
CBT Instructor
DAS Instructor
ERS (Enhanced Rider Scheme) Instructor Advanced Instructor
European Tour Guide and Trainer
Sarah Dennis – Fitness Coach and Motocross Rider
“Hi my name is Sarah, my interest in bikes started as a young girl growing up watching my dad run a motorcycle shop working on Ducatis and MV Augusta’s, I hugely looked up to my dad.
I was fascinated by them and my dream was to be able to own my own bike, I just didn’t think it would be until the age of 32/33 years old. I got hugely held back starting my license due to an ongoing spine injury and this was one of my challenges I faced which caused a lot of frustration.
But in 2020 I bought a KTM sx150 and just kept it in my gym, told no one and just looked at it, not really knowing where to start other then the fact that I wanted to start up motocross. I reached out to an old friend who I knew used to race in the 90s and he guided me on what to do as he was the only person I knew in the bike world then.
The nerves started to kick in but after my first experience on a track I was hooked.
I have meet some amazing people in the motorcycle world and it has truly changed my life and made me feel like I have a purpose in life.”
Women in Racing Panel (Sunday 17th)
New for 2025, the Women in Racing panel features inspiring young riders racing at top level. Sharing their stories and inviting questions from the audience, this will be a great way to connect with the stars of the present and future.
Chloe Jones #15
“I’m 21 years old, and for 2025 I am riding for GR Motosport in the Women’s World Circuit Racing Championship (WorldWCR) after a successful wildcard at Jerez at the end of 2024, picking up 2 x 6th places.
2024 was also a strong year in the British Championship having multiple podiums and also picking up a lap record at Brands Hatch too.
For 2025 it’s one of my biggest years yet. I’m really excited to be able to race in the World Championship and I’m ready to give my all and show what I and the Team can achieve together on the world stage!
You can follow my journey by becoming part of my official Fan base on the link below.”
Jamie Hanks-Elliott #76
“Jamie did her own research on racing, sent off to the ACU for her license, filled in the form, and then presented it to her mum. Aged 13.
She raced in Superteen,(Aprilia 125) taking a couple of wins, and moved up to the ACU National 300 Ninja championship at club level, eventually moving to the BSB Ninja class. Here, she was picked up by Faye Ho to ride as part of Faye Ho’s girls squad. Whilst here, in the final race of the BSB Ninja series, Jamie scored a 6th place finish.
I noticed Jamie, and her family, at BSB in 2023. They are the nicest people you will meet. Jamie is always smiling, always happy to chat, and when asked a question about racing, you can see her passion jumping out.
With her late Nan, Rose Hanks being the first woman to stand on the podium at the Isle of Man TT (1968), she had a trail blazer in the family. This was followed by her mum, also racing at the TT. You can see that Jamie has it in the blood and she is amazingly professional.
I approached Jamie halfway through last year’s season, to enquire what her plans were. She would compliment our team perfectly. So, she now rides jointly under the Hanks Racing / 2StrokesRacing banner.” – Peter, 2StrokesRacing
